The Department of Dairy Technology is pioneering institute in South Punjab that is dedicated to providing high-quality education and training to develop skilled professionals. As the first institute of its kind in the region, the Department of Dairy Technology is playing an important role in transforming knowledge in dairy science and technology to both private and public sectors of Pakistan. Through its cutting-edge research and innovative educational programs, the department is a core platform for enhancing the quality of the dairy industry and ensuring its sustainability. With its emphasis on creating a skilled and knowledgeable workforce, the department is poised to be a leader in advancing the dairy sector in the region and beyond.



Vision

The vision of Department of Dairy Science and Technology is to provide quality education and skilful knowledge to develop excellent quality human resource focusing on dairy security, environmental sustainability and economic viability. The strength of department lies on multidisciplinary and integrated approach to research that includes dairy product development, dairy nutrition, dairy safety and security, and waste management of dairy products. This department is a core platform for transforming knowledge in dairy science and technology to private and public sectors of Pakistan.


Mission

The mission of Department of Dairy Science and Technology is to build uniquely valuable and science-based research initiatives focused on dairy production systems and to develop health best dairy products. So, the objectives at the following mission are:
• Provide scientific and technical knowledge on dairy farms, collections centers and industries for the provision of safe and nutritious dairy.
• Provide scientific and technical skills to solve the problems of dairy industries regarding the processing of various dairy products • Develop new dairy products with cost-effective recipes having nutritional and therapeutic properties.
• Provide trainings to farmers and unemployment youth to initialize the dairy business.
• Provide lifelong learning to produce skilled dairy professionals for ensuring the food security around the globe.
