Introduction

Department of Commerce was established in 1996 in order to cater the needs of business, trade and industry in the Southern Punjab by providing Commerce graduates with a solid academic and analytical foundation for practical decision making. The department’s role is instrumental in providing students with thorough knowledge and understanding of the principles of commerce and business. The department is offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs to fulfill the acute shortage in the disciplines of Accounting, Finance, Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Our programs are structured on team based learning, class presentations, case studies, field research reports and other reference materials, to make a great mix of theory and practice. These methods of study not only provide vast oppotunities for practical training and exprience in personal development but also prepare and equip the students to tackle future challenges in the fast growing corporate world.

Programs Offered

The following programs are being offered:

BS Accounting & Finance (4-Year) (Morning/Evening)

Undergraduate Program
Eligibility:
Applicants must possess at least FA/F.Sc./ DBA/D.Com/A-levels/ICS/ADP (Admission in 5th semester) or equivalent qualification with a minimum of second division (45% Marks or Grade C in case of semester system of examinations) from a recognized Institution/Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education to be eligible for admission in BS (A&F) program. Holders of A level and other similar certificates will be required to provide an Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC. Maximum age limit is 24 years on closing date.

Merit Determination:

The merit will be determined as per policy formulated by the University.

BS Commerce (4-Year) (Evening Program)

Undergraduate Program
Eligibility:
Applicants must possess at least FA/F.Sc./ DBA/D.Com/A-levels/ICS /ADP (Admission in 5th semester) and equivalent qualification with a minimum of second division (45% Marks or Grade C in case of semester system of examinations) from a recognized Institution/Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education to be eligible for admission in BS Commerce program. Holders of A-level and other similar certificates will be required to provide an Equivalence Certificate issued by IBCC. Maximum age limit is 24 years on closing date

The merit will be determined as per policy formulated by the University. Each student shall have to undergo 9 weeks Internship in an industrial/commercial organization as a degree requirement. The internship would carry no weightage towards the calculation of CGPA.

BS (Entrepreneurship) (4-Year)

Undergraduate Program
Eligibility:
Applicats must possess at least Intermediate, FA/F.Sc./DBA/I.COM/D.COM/ICS/ADP/ALevels or equivalent qualifications with a minimum of 2nd Division (45% Marks or Grade C in case of semester system of examinations) from a recognized Institution/ Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. To be eligible for admission, the relevant certificates will be required to be provided, along with equivalence certificate issued by IBCC(for Alevel) . Maximum age limit for admission in BS Entrepreneurship is 24 years on closing date.

BS Islamic Finance (4- Year) Morning Program

Undergraduate Program
Eligibility:
“FA/F.Sc/DBA/I.Com/D.Com/A-level/ICS and equivalent Qualification from a recognized Institution/Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education” Each student shall have to undergo 9 weeks Internship in an industrial/commercial organization as a degree requirement. The internship would carry no weightage towards the calculation of CGPA.

BS Accounting & Finance (2-Year) 5th Semester

BS (5th Semester) Program
Eligibility:
Candidates are required to have secured at least 45% marks in B.Com. or Grade “C” in ADP Commerce/ADP(Accounting & Finance) or equivalent.

The merit will be determined as per policy formulated by the University. Each student shall have to undergo 9 weeks Internship in an industrial/commercial organization as a degree requirement. The internship would carry no weightage towards the calculation of CGPA.

BS Commerce (2-Year) 5th Semester (Morning/Evening Program)

BS (5th Semester) Program
Eligibility:
Candidates are required to be at least a Graduate (B.Com./BBA) with a minimum of 2nd Division (45% marks in B.Com. or grade “C” in BBA/ADP Commerce/ADP ADP(Accounting & Finance) or equivalent.

Merit Determination:

The merit will be determined as per policy formulated by the University. Notes: 1. All courses carry a weight of 3 credit hours except Research Project, which carries 6 credit hours. 2. Each student shall have to undergo 9 weeks Internship in an industrial/commercial organization as a degree requirement. The internship would carry no weightage towards the calculation of CGPA. 3. Passing the comprehensive examination on completion of course work is also a degree requirement. 4. Age of candidate should not exceed 26 years for graduate degree program and 24 years for undergraduate program on the last date of the receipt of applications. 5. Any other requirement laid down in semester rules or as decided by university from time to time will be applicable. 6. Department reserves the right to change the class timings of any program.

Research Degree Programs M.Phil. Commerce Program (2-Year) (Evening/We

Graduate (MS) Program
Eligibility:
Candidates with at least 60% marks in Annual System or 3.00 / 4.00 CGPA in semester system in M.Com, M.Sc. Accounting and Finance (2 and 3 years), BS Commerce, BS Accounting and Finance and MBA or equivalent qualification. Qualifying GAT general/Departmental test is prerequisite for admission to M.Phil program.

Graduate (MS) Program
Eligibility:
A candidate qualifies for admission after sixteen years of study. Admissions is open to those candidates who have passed B. Com (Hons), BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, M.Sc. (E-Commerce), M.B.E, M.Com. MBA and M.Sc. (Accounting & Finance) or equivalent B.Sc. Engineering, All others Sixteen years degree programs thought with atleast one business course (Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Human Resource Management).
