Directorate of Information Technology (DIT)

The IT Center was established in 2008 with the vision of providing reliable IT services to our esteemed staff and students. Over the years, it has played a vital role in delivering efficient, doorstep IT solutions across the university. On March 7, 2025, the IT Center was officially upgraded to the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT).

Our Journey of IT Excellence

Internet Bandwidth Expansion

  • From 2 Mbps (2006) to 1156 Mbps, supporting 8000+ nodes and 24,000+ users.
  • Internet available across all departments and hostels.

PERN Integration

  • Transitioned from PERN1 to VSAT and later to PERN2 project by HEC.
  • Established a Point of Presence (PoP) site to connect universities across Pakistan.

Network Infrastructure

  • Added 18 new departments with fiber optic connectivity.
  • Installed high-end servers and routers for smooth IT operations.

Advanced Facilities

  • State-of-the-art Video Conferencing Room with HEC support.
  • In-house Security Card Management System and CCTV Control Room.
  • Issued 12,000+ security cards and campus-wide CCTV monitoring.

Skill Development and Recognition

  • HEC-selected IT staff for two international and multiple local trainings in Networking, Anti-Plagiarism Software, and Video Conferencing.

  • VPN-based digital library access.
  • Security card management system.
  • Anti-plagiarism software distribution and management.
