Dr. Khalid Saifullah Syed
CASPAM Industrial Research Group (CIRG) is working on a project that is aimed at designing and developing an intelligent, efficient, optimal, adaptive, scalable, fault-tolerant, modular, robust, real time, secure and reasonably accurate hybrid ECU combining the advantages of neurofuzzy systems based on deep learning and PID controllers.
The proposed system may render low emissions, improved fuel economy, increased tractor safety and life, reduction in the number of occurrences of unexpected failures of tractor working at high times, availability of appropriate engine power, increase in tractor exports resulting into the enhancement of foreign reserves and socio-economic and technological development of the country. Millat Tractors Limited (MTL) is ready to support field testing of the product and invest in its manufacturing and commercialization.
Currently around 800,000 tractors are running in Pakistan and around 50,000 tractors are manufactured annually. The target cost of the product is around Rs.100,000. Successful completion of the project and commercialization has the potential to generate a revenue up to Rs.80,000,000,000 and regular annual revenue increase of Rs.5,000,000,000. Moreover, ECU is expected to save fuel consumed by the tractors from 5% to 10%.
