The Bahauddin Zakariya University College of Textile Engineering (BZUCTE hereafter) came into existence when Bahauddin Zakariya University (from now on BZU) took over Institute of Handloom and Home Textile Technology (referred to as IHHTT) in the year 2004 founded by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) pre - cursor of Trade Development Authority (TDAP) of the Government of Pakistan. Same year, Bachelor of Engineering in Textiles (referred to by PEC as B. Sc. Textile Engineering) was launched that has continued to this date and has proven to be a flag - ship programme of BZUCTE. Over the years several changes have been made to improve the overall quality of education in BZUCTE. One of the major changes have been the awarding of Level - 2 of PEC accreditation under Washington Accord. This gives unique opportunity to BZUCTE students regarding finding employment in Pakistan and overseas.

The B. Sc. Textile Engineering syllabus has been designed to impart students firm grip not only on engineering concepts but also to enhance management capabilities. Out of 133 Credit Hours (CrHrs) (47 Courses) offered, 30.1% are of Non Engineering domain and the remaining 69.9% are of Engineering domain.

Our Vision

To be a global leader in, and renowned for high quality education and research in textiles and capable of meeting industrial/societal needs. This is in line with the objectives of BZU.

Our Mission

B. Sc. Textile Engineering program aims to produce professionals with adequate knowledge, skills and attitude by providing high quality education for successful careers.

Programmes Offered

The BZUCTE offers two major undergraduate programmes, namely, B. Sc. Textile Engineering and B. S. Textile Design and one graduate programme of M. Sc. Textile Engineering (PEC Designation). The details are provided here - in.
