Research Interests:
My research group remained interested in hypoxia-ischemia mediated brain damage and potential recovery through supplementation of natural and synthetic products. Molecular parasitology is the current focus of my lab. We have developed and reported a number of PCR protocols for the prophylactic detection of Anaplasma, Theileria and Babesia species in small and large ruminants. We have also identified and reported the tick vectors of livestock and have reported the effect of a number of tick borne pathogens on the blood chemistry of the host.
