Academic Programs

The Department of Biochemistry Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, was established in 2012. The Department of Biochemistry offers different degree programs, i.e., BS, BS ADS, MPhil, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry. The vision of the Department is to excel in advanced research in biochemistry. Along with regular academic activities, the Department of Biochemistry has the tradition of conducting International and National scientific conferences/workshops/symposia/seminars to train young scientists with modern techniques in Biochemistry. 

The Biochemistry faculty at BZU is highly qualified and competent, with doctorate and post-doctoral experience from reputable national and international universities/institutes. The faculty has research specializations in diverse fields like Clinical Biochemistry, Molecular biology, Proteomics, Genomics, Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Targeted Drug Delivery, Natural Product Drug Discovery, Protein Chemistry and Protein Expression Industrial Enzymology, Biofuels, Bioinformatics, and Biomaterials, among others. The Department of Biochemistry has won research grants from various funding agencies and has a record of publications in internationally reputed journals with high impact factors. The Department has developed active collaborations with several highly reputable national and international universities, research institutes, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, which offer great opportunities for the Department's students for learning and research activities.
