Department of Electrical Engineering
The educational objectives of the Department of Electrical Engineering are to develop professional skills in the students that prepare them for immediate employment in Electrical Engineering. The department aims to develop abilities in the students for the application of the necessary mathematical tools, scientific basics, and fundamental knowledge of Electrical Engineering.
The Department of Electrical Engineering started to function by offering a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering program from the academic Session 1997-1998 and the construction work for the Undergraduate Block was completed in January 2000. The main purpose of this program is to provide the essential knowledge and skills of Electrical engineering to the Students. The program offers a promising choice to the students in the selection of their careers.
The department is housed in two Blocks (Undergraduate Block & Postgraduate Block). The total covered area is approximately 50,000 sq. ft which includes a 30,000 sq. ft. Undergraduate Block & 20,000 sq. ft Postgraduate Block. The department has well-equipped laboratories for the programs that are being offered and the equipment is upgraded as the need arises. Lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices, etc. are all housed within the given infrastructure. The department supports eleven state-of-the-art laboratories.
Those are equipped with the necessary equipment that supplements the theory to meet the study objectives. Currently, the faculty strength of the department is 14 (8 have Ph. D. degrees, 3 are on study leave for Ph.D. while 3 have Masters degrees).
The students are provided with an educational foundation that prepares them for leadership roles along diverse career paths in large companies concerned with communications, electronics, industrial control & automation, computers, and electrical energy. There is hardly any sphere of modern life that is not affected one way or the other, by some aspect of electrical engineering.
Keeping in view the present-day requirements of the subject, the Department of Electrical Engineering is offering an exciting and academically challenging Post graduate degree of M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Telecommunications and Power system engineering.
The University is expected to be immensely innovative in fostering world-class research and becoming a vital agent for regional development.
We aspire to be innovative in fostering world-class excellence in diverse academic disciplines developing into a vital player in gathering knowledge and conducting research to benefit the people of Pakistan in particular, regional countries in general and the world at large.
To produce Competent Professionals for Local and Global Electrical Engineering Industry to meet the Emerging Challenges of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Sector with updated Engineering Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Related Research.
To Prepare Competent Electrical Engineering Graduates Conscious of Professional, Ethical, and Social Responsibilities for Productive Engineering Careers in Industry, Academia, and Research both Locally and Abroad.
The Bachelors of Electrical Engineering program offered by the Electrical Engineering Department at BZU University is designed to enable undergraduate students to
PEO-01: Graduates shall demonstrate an ability to apply knowledge, skills, and personality traits to analyze, investigate complex engineering problems and design suitable solutions.
PEO-02: Graduates shall engage to benefit society through economically feasible, environment-friendly and socially acceptable solutions to daily life problems by research, innovation and applying modern tools
