Introduction
The University Gillani Law College (UGLC), a constituent college of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, is one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions dedicated to legal education in the region. Established in January 1971 by Anjuman-e-Islamia, Multan, the college was nationalized on 1st September 1972 in line with the Government of Pakistan’s policy of nationalizing educational institutions. Since then, UGLC has operated under the administrative and academic umbrella of BZU, receiving consistent support in terms of curriculum, administration, and financial resources.
Over the years, UGLC has emerged as a center of excellence for legal education and research in South Punjab, offering a diverse range of academic programs, including:

· Diplomas in specialized areas such as Taxation Law, Business & Corporate Law, Human Rights Law, Family Laws, Labour Law & Criminal Law.
UGLC has a proud tradition of organizing impactful international conferences that bring together leading legal experts, practitioners, and students. The 1st Two-Days Conference was organized on “Contemporary Issues in Law” fostered insightful discussions on emerging legal challenges.
Building on this, the 2nd International Conference was organized on the Role of “Artificial Intelligence in Access to Justice in Pakistan” explored how AI is reshaping the legal landscape and improving access to justice.
Continuing this momentum, UGLC is hosting the 3rd International Conference on Women’s Empowerment Law and Justice in Pakistan Advancing Transformative Leadership and Inclusive Legal Futures , which will focus on advancing women’s rights, equality, and social justice through interdisciplinary dialogue and actionable strategies.

Vast and Rich Law Library and Research Resources
The College maintains a well-stocked library with more than 6,000 textbooks and reference volumes, covering all major branches of law. In addition, students have access to the Central Library of Bahauddin Zakariya University as well as the Digital Library, providing access to thousands of online journals, databases, and research materials. Our students also benefit from direct access to Pakistan Law Site, one of the most comprehensive legal research platforms in the country.
Modern Computer Laboratories
Gillani Law College houses two state-of-the-art computer laboratories, equipped with more than 100 computers. These labs serve as important resources for legal research, assignments, online learning, and skill development, ensuring that our students remain abreast of modern technological tools essential for the legal profession.
Moot Courtroom and Moot Society
The College boasts a fully functional Moot Courtroom, which provides students with a realistic environment to practice advocacy and litigation skills. The Law Moot Society is one of the most active student bodies on campus, regularly organizing intra-college and inter-university moot court competitions. These activities sharpen the practical skills of aspiring lawyers and prepare them for national and international platforms.

International Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops
The College has established a strong tradition of academic exchange and dialogue. Each year, it organizes an International Conference on Law, which has attracted scholars, jurists, and practitioners from around the globe. The upcoming event will mark the Third International Conference hosted by the College. In addition, we frequently arrange seminars, workshops, and training sessions on emerging legal issues.
Study Tours and Exposure Visits
To complement classroom learning with practical exposure, the College organizes study tours to courts, prisons, and other institutions of legal infrastructure. These visits provide students with firsthand understanding of the functioning of the justice system and deepen their appreciation of legal practice.
